Robert Grayson “Bob” Finchum, Jr.
FINCHUM, ROBERT GRAYSON "BOB" JR. - age 68 of Dandridge, passed away suddenly,
Monday, January 09, 2012. He was born and raised in Dandridge, TN, the son of
the late Grayson and Anna Rhea (Strange) Finchum. Bob was an active member of
Antioch Baptist Church and was a prominent retired banker having worked at
Jefferson Co. Bank, Tennessee State Bank (Sevier Co.) and First Peoples Bank
of Jefferson Co. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the
Dandridge Lions Club. Bob was an avid sports enthusiast and was a life member
of the American Checker Federation where he traveled and competed on a
national level. Survived by his wife, Betty Norman Finchum; son and
daughter-in-law, Michael Robert and Brenda Finchum; sister, Pat Whaley and
husband Loran; brother, Mark Finchum and his wife Sherry; step grandchildren,
Dustin (Hannah) Lowery and Tyler (Kendra) Lowery; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Antioch
Baptist Church cemetery fund, P.O. Box 1639, Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral
services, Friday, January 13, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with
Rev. Harold Ball officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
Family will receive friends Thursday evening, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Farrar
Funeral Home, Dandridge.
